ONLINE SUMMER SCHOOL: MACRO, MONEY, FINANCE
Over five weeks in June and July, Markus Burnnermeier, together with Sebastian Merkel,
Andrey Alexandrov, Goutham Gopalakrishna, Weiqi Chen, and Zhouzhou Gu, delivered the
second annual intensive online summer school aiming to bring students to the frontier of
modern continuous time modeling techniques at the intersection between macroeconomics,
monetary economics, and (international) finance.
Ph.D. students in economics, finance, and related fields from around the world were
encouraged to apply by having their advisors nominate them. About 200 students participated
in this year’s summer school, and the top-performing students will be invited to attend the
2026 Princeton Initiative.
