I study the role of diversity in a bank’s depositor base in banking crises. First, I propose several changes to the random coefficients model to shed light on depositor characteristics and choices outside of banking crises. I then develop an structural global-games model of banking shocks and estimate it using data from the 2023 banking crisis.
