HEC Paris has named Princeton Ph.D. student Nicolas Hommel as one of the six winners of its 2026 Top Finance Graduate Award. This award recognizes the “most promising Ph.D. candidates in financial economics worldwide” who are graduating in 2026.
Hommel’s research intersects corporate finance, international economics, and macro-finance. He is a student of both the Economics Department and the Bendheim Center for Finance at Princeton. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D. at Princeton, Hommel received a Master’s degree in Management from HEC Paris and a Master’s degree in Economics from ENSAE Paristech.
The HEC Paris scientific committee “selects the candidates with the greatest promise to have a long-term impact on our understanding of finance, regardless of their field of study.” HEC Paris has hosted this award since 2023; previously, it was the AQR Top Finance Graduate Award and was hosted between 2013 and 2022 at Copenhagen Business School.
The Economics Department and Bendheim Center for Finance congratulate Hommel on this impressive achievement and look forward to watching his career evolve post-graduation.
