The Bendheim Center for Finance does not directly admit Ph.D. students. Typically, Ph.D. students in the BCF are admitted by the Department of Economics, the Department of ORFE, or the Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics. As with the faculty, the interdisciplinary nature of our Ph.D. program is a key aspect of the BCF.
The Bendheim Center for Finance provides a (second) home for Ph.D. students interested in finance and related fields. Advanced students after passing their general examination and who are under the supervision of BCF affiliated faculty typically receive carrel space. The carrel space is in close proximity to the faculty and helps foster the interaction between faculty and other students. A weekly student research workshop gives students the opportunity to present their work and receive first-hand feedback from faculty and fellow students.
